Gregory Grookett November 27, 2014

Gregory Grookett really enjoyed his Thanksgiving the best he could with the recent passing of his grandfather. I spent the better half of the day with my daughter and we enjoyed a nice meal and played with her toy colored and played with the dog and cat and actually took the dog for a walk and threw snowballs.

It was a day of remembering old times past with my grandfather and building new memories with my daughter which Gregory Grookett is very grateful for and believes he is truly blessed and thanks God for that.

Gregory Grookett hopes all who read this had a very happy Thanksgiving also and that you made memories that will also last a lifetime. Thank you for reading a bless all your hearts.

Gregory Grookett and MLAR

Gregory Grookett is very impressed with the things that Mainline Animal Rescue is doing for abandoned and neglected animals. They have a state of the art facility and is one of the best rescues I have ever been to. The staff is very caring you can tell upon entering.



I Gregory Grookett recently found a stray cat that I named Peanut and he was so skinny and crying loudly under a piece of construction equipment down in center city Philadelphia and I rescued him and brought him home and fed him and cleaned him up. Gregory Grookett has been an animal lover his whole life and could not have just left Peanut down there. It was at the busy intersection of 12th and Vine Streets and there is no yards or grass anywhere in sight just busy streets and concrete. No place for a little kitty to be.



After bringing him home and getting him settled I posted on Facebook about Peanut and started a GO Fund Me site for him to help get him the care he would need to make sure he was not sick. Well my family and friends raised $160.00 in a 48 hour period and I was on my way to getting Peanut the care he needed. I could not keep him due to already having many pets but wanted to get him a good home.



Gregory Grookett was told about MLAR and they agreed to take Peanut in and get him all his shots and tests done at there onsite vet hospital. This was great news and Peanut turned out to be healthy and is now awaiting his forever home which hopefully will be soon. Gregory Grookett graciously donated the funds raised for Peanut to the rescue and is very grateful they took him in. Thank you to all who donated you did a wonderful thing and probably saved a kitties life! God Bless you all.

Gregory Grookett Thankgiving Storm

Gregory Grookett never remembers the temperatures being below freezing and also in the 60,s in the same week of Thanksgiving. Also I never remember there being a snow storm on Thanksgiving. The weather we are experiencing is rather strange. Do you like snow? Do you think the snow on Thanksgiving will be neat?

Gregory Grookett really likes the snow and will be happy to see his daughter on this holiday and maybe play in the snow  together. BTW my daughter wants cheese fries for Thanksgiving so I guess thats going to be one of our dishes then!

Gregory Grookett and his daughter

Gregory Grookett took his daughter to Build a Bear this weekend and we also visited with Santa Clause as well as went on a Merry Go Round. But we weren't done there we also threw money in the water fountain at the mall and made wishes.

So at Build a Bear my daughter decided to make a bear from the Disney Frozen film and name it after Elsa. She picked out a song she liked and we also put two hearts inside her Elsa bear. One for her and one for me. Then after building the bear we washed her and bought her some clothes and registered for her Elsa's birth certificate. Gregory Grookett was a proud daddy of his little girl for picking everything out for her Elsa bear.

Next we went to see Santa Clause and my daughter was a little shy and wanted daddy to sit with her so we sat in front of Santa and had out pictures taken and also asked Santa for some special requests and again Gregory Grookett was so very proud of his daughter.

Next we had some more father daughter time as we rode the Merry Go Round twice and then tossed some change into the fountain and made wishes. I had such a great time with my daughter.

Gregory Grookett had to say goodbye to a very special family member recently and this was a very difficult time. I am not sure why God does this calling back his children at times but I know he calls loved ones back to watch over them after their work here is done. Gregory Grookett is very thankful to have had decades with my loved daddy and will Cherish that time and hold onto those memories for the rest of my life. Although this is a very difficult time I am going to keep my promise to you to make you proud of me. Gregory Grookett wants you to know daddy I was always so proud of you and always will be. Love and miss you with all my heart!

Gregory Grookett has many passions in life. First and fore most I’m a lover of animals both wild and domestic. My favorite wild animals are the big cats and Tigers being my favorite specifically the Bengal tiger. I have volunteered at many different animal rescues and have been helping homeless cats and dogs for many years. I developed a passion for animals at a very young age.

Some of my other interests are cooking. I love cooking with organic foods and foods GMO free. I really love trying new things and have a wide variety of foods I like such as Italian, Chinese, Mexican and Middle Eastern to name a few. I also love to bake and occasionally cheat a little on my diet with a hand tossed pizza and a big ole piece of chocolate cake for desert.

My hobbies are fishing, amusement parks, watching nature programs, movies, and taking day trips throughout the beautiful state of Pennsylvania. I also am into physical fitness and try to workout 5-6 times a weeks to maintain a healthy life style in coordination with my healthy eating.
